AMAZING FACILITY AND STAFF

I have been down this road (assisted-living for an 80+ year old family member) twice. I wish I had been able to choose Waterman Village on the first round. Unfortunately, they did not have any availability. It was January 2020. I say that because I cannot tell you how many people from various assisted-living communities promised me how great their services were, how much attention they paid to the residents, how much they were willing to work with my particular family member, and how happy we would be to make their facility home. Waterman said very similar things, and that was not surprising. It was very hard for me to make the decision to move basically because everyone else we talked to lied and I assumed Waterman was doing the same. I will be blunt and say my family member did not have a good care at [facility name removed.] On the complete opposite, Waterman Village staff is kind, caring, responsive, and they have held up to everything they promised, including availability for medical appointment transportation, unusual food allergies/preferences, a family member who is not interested in any of the social activities, but prefers to say to herself, and they have responded every time I have sent an email or made a phone call. I could not be more please! I am so grateful to A Place for Mom for helping us research and weed out the choices. -Beth

GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL

Mom is flourishing in Bridgewater with a new sense of sense of self-esteem and a feeling of belonging she is so much more active and engaged. She went to her 6 month wellness last week and her Doctor told me that she can see a substantial increase in her cognitive abilities and her self worthiness. She’s so busy that I don’t have to worry or feel bad when I don’t spend time with her, she’s coming into her own and not so dependent on me. IT WAS THE RIGHT DECISION

My family member moved into Bridgewater a little over 7 months ago. It was a rough start as she was leaving the life she knew behind. She gave up her car, home and half of her possessions and move into a downstairs room. She experienced a great loss and adjustment period. Frankly, we were all extremely concerned. I’m back to physically check on her, and what a difference. She looks good and is in better physical and mental condition. She has used the “button” to call for assistance a few times and knows it works, and she feels safe. Different staff members check on her throughout the day, and she says, “They are all very nice.” She has used the shuttle to the local markets and medical appointments as well as the golf cart rides to medical appointments. At one point during this visit, she looked at me and said, “Thank you for finding and picking this place.” I don’t live nearby, but my communications and questions have always been promptly addressed by staff. It has been a family effort, but we all feel comfortable and know it was the right decision for us to choose Bridgewater Assisted Living. -Julie

SO MANY ADVANTAGES

When researching assisted living options for a loved one, families should keep in mind that choosing a residence within a larger, full-service retirement community with multiple levels of care offers many advantages over selecting a stand-alone assisted living facility. Waterman Village provides home health care, outpatient therapies (physical, occupational and speech), post-hospital rehabilitation, and short-term and long-term nursing care. Why is this so important? If a Waterman Village resident goes to the hospital and their doctor recommends rehab upon discharge, they know that they can come BACK HOME to Waterman Village for their care! Private, spacious, studio apartments start at $3750 a month AND include medication administration and bathing assistance in the regular monthly fee, which is rare for most assisted living facilities. Room for twin, full, queen, or king size beds.

No large entry fee required to move your loved one into the Bridgewater, only a community move in fee that is comparable to other assisted living facilities. You don’t have to have previously resided at Waterman Village, in order to move into the Bridgewater.

Amenities

Just outside the Bridgewater assisted living facility, you’ll find spacious grounds with shaded walking trails close by where you can take your family member or friend out for a nice stroll. The Bridgewater’s interior and exterior were recently renovated.  The Bridgewater has only two stories, which is very important for life-safety code and evacuation operations if ever necessary or required. Recently, a brand new heavy duty commercial generator was purchased for the Bridgewater. There are two full service dental offices by our staffed/gated entry and a physician’s clinic nearby, making life much easier for Bridgewater residents and their family members.

Staffing

Many of our Bridgewater staff have been with us for many years. We have a visiting medical doctor, nurse practitioner, podiatrist and psychologist, so residents can easily receive these services when and if needed.

Activities

Our Bridgewater Activities Department strives to keep our residents engaged, socialized, and entertained.

Dining

Before you choose an assisted living residence for your loved one, compare and experience Bridgewater’s food quality, quantity, choice, and service. For top notch/timely dining services, we have a dedicated team of dining room servers for each meal served, who work solely in the Bridgewater dining room, and not out ‘on the floor’ as nursing assistants or activity staff.  Quite rare in the industry.

Outpatient Therapy

It’s not uncommon that your loved one will need physical, occupational, or speech therapy at some point during their stay at the Bridgewater assisted living facility. The great news is, Bridgewater residents can utilize our extensive group of ‘on-site’ therapy professionals, through the Waterman Village Outpatient Therapy Clinic, who have a clinic RIGHT INSIDE The Bridgewater. This makes life much easier for family members and can often lead to better therapy outcomes for our residents.

Home Health Care

Bridgewater residents also have easy access to Waterman Village’s full-service in-home health care agency, that is ideally located right on the campus.  There are many advantages of using Waterman Village Home Care, should your loved one desire private duty in home care as well.  One being, since Waterman Village Home Care is located on the same campus, they’ll already be familiar with your loved one’s current plan of care, which often leads to better health care outcomes as well.

Gated and staffed front entry, 24/7

A must for a senior living residence. Offers you as a family member, and our residents, more security and peace of mind, knowing that those who enter the Waterman Village campus are stopped before entering. Considered by many senior living experts to be an essential requirement and service for today’s senior living community.

Transportation

Transportation to/from local medical appointments is included at no extra charge on certain days and times during the week.

Spiritual Wellness

Residents enjoy the spiritual services provided by our Spiritual Wellness Department.  It’s ‘love thy neighbor’ in action. Our chapel is beautiful and can accommodate 150 residents.
