What’s Next at Lakeside: Looking Ahead to an Exciting Start to 2022

3…2…1…The countdown begins! As we prepare to ring in 2022, our champagne flutes are overflowing with anticipation for the grand opening of Lakeside at Waterman Village in April. But starting as early as this month, you’ll see parts of Lakeside opening in phases. So, raise a glass and find out what’s coming in the next six months as construction wraps up and gives way to a new year, new residents and new experiences. Cheers!
December 2021: Garden villas open
Even before the ball drops on December 31, 2021, 18 beautiful garden homes will officially be ready for our new residents to move in. These luxurious duplexes, which have garages and two to three bedrooms, are perched like gingerbread houses along the east side of Lake Margaret.
Who are these new neighbors and what will they be like? It will be fun to welcome and get to know new people – like Jeff and Michele Gilliam, who can’t wait to play golf, go for walks on the paved trail around the lake and work out at the fitness center.
Winter 2022: Lakeside Lodge opens
Grab noisemakers if you’ve got them or bang together some pots and pans because the long-awaited Lakeside Lodge will be open for all to enjoy in winter 2022. The Lodge, which connects the two Lakeside Grand apartment towers, includes common areas and lots of amenities for residents including a:
- Welcoming reception area that serves as a social hub for residents with a concierge, comfy couches and TVs
- Café/pub where you can enjoy a cocktail or some pizza with family and friends
- Casual bistro with a coffee bar, grab-and-go food selections, a 24-hour micro market for sundries and delicious, fresh-baked pastries
- Dining room with all the ambience of a high-style resort restaurant where you can delve into delicious, chef-prepared cuisine for lunch, dinner and (don’t forget!) brunch on Sundays.
You can almost hear the roaring laughter, clinking glasses and clanging silverware tines. There are surely wonderful parties in your near future, so get dressed up…and maybe you’ll get a kiss at midnight.
Spring 2022: Lakeside Grand opens
In the spring, sections A and B of Lakeside Grand will open. These upscale, multi-story apartment home buildings include covered parking and feature spacious layouts with one to two bedrooms and screened-in balconies or porches. Apartments are all centrally located and connected to the Lodge, so these future neighbors – like Judie Betz – will always be close to the action.
Late Spring 2022: Official grand opening
Break out the bubbly and put it on ice – it’s almost time to party! Spring will be here before you know it, and it will be the official grand opening of Lakeside at Waterman Village. The Lakehouse East hybrid homes and Lakeside Grand sections C and D are expected to open. Lakehouse homes are hybrid two-bedroom apartments with covered parking, screened-in balconies or patios and fully equipped kitchens with large working islands. Additionally, the remaining garden homes will also open around this time.
Fast-forward to summer
Finally, Lakehouse West is scheduled to open in summer 2022, which will mark the end of major construction. By this time, all the trucks, equipment and other vehicles will ride off into the sunset into their next project.
