Staying Active – Staying Engaged
Whole person wellness – Meet some of our residents
Before you choose a continuing care (CCRC), life-plan, full-service, progressive living, or multi-level of living retirement community in the Orlando, Leesburg, Lake County, or Central Florida areas, discover Waterman Village’s two retirement communities; The Oaks and Lakeside. The Oaks has two full-time independent living activity staff, a full-time wellness director/personal trainer, and a full-time brain fitness director . . . . . . very rare in the industry. Lakeside will have even more. There are regularly scheduled exercise classes such as Yoga, Tai chi, water aerobics, and strong and steady. A few of the campus groups include the: broadway singers, computer club, photo club, card (5), game (3), lawn bowling, pickle ball, lunch and dinner bunches, art, line dancing, tap, music, woodworking, brain fitness, trivia, yoga, tai chi, choral, aquatics, bible study, veteran’s, and the Waterman Village players. The Oaks ‘Chapel Fellowship’ congregation is located right on The Oaks campus. Golf? Enjoy a complimentary golf & pickle ball membership at the Country Club of Mount Dora, less than a mile away.
Most people think of retirement as living life somewhat behind the scenes. But for many residents at Waterman Village, senior life is being lived right out there with everyone else.
Whether reigniting their life with a new pursuit, or continuing an old passion, these Waterman Village residents are leading vital, robust lives in the community with arts, business and philanthropy – sometimes all three – filling their days.
We think you’ll find them some of the most inspiring neighbors you’ll meet anywhere! Here are just a few of the amazing folks who call The Oaks retirement community at Waterman Village, home.
